Sports Club Management App Development for SportLomo
Divtechnosoft rebuilt SportLomo's web-based league system into a cross-platform mobile app. Athletes, coaches and referees now handle fixtures, results, registrations and referee assignments from a phone, across global and multiple sports.

About SportLomo
SportLomo is an all-in-one sports management platform founded in 2015. Leagues and clubs use it for player registration, match scheduling, referee assignments and live score updates. It serves governing bodies and grassroots clubs globally across sports including Rugby, Soccer, and Volleyball.

The Problem
SportLomo's platform was web-only. Club admins could manage a season from a desk, but the people who needed the data most were never at one. Coaches set line-ups on the touchline. Referees checked assignments in a car park. Players wanted results before they left the pitch.
A mobile browser did not solve it. The platform needed native behaviour: push alerts for schedule changes, offline access at grounds with weak signal, and separate flows for four different user roles.
Challenges Faced
Four constraints shaped the build.
Web-to-Mobile Transformation
The web platform had years of accumulated workflows. We mapped every screen to a mobile task, then cut anything that did not belong on a phone. Season setup stayed on the web; day-of-match actions moved to mobile.
Multi-Sport Data Model
Rugby, Soccer, and Volleyball score differently, substitute differently and discipline players differently. A fixed schema would have forced a separate app per sport, so we built sport-specific rule sets on one shared core.
Multi-Region Operations
Fixtures span time zones, and governing bodies in each country use their own terminology. All times are stored in UTC and rendered locally, and labels are driven by the region config rather than hard-coded.
Real-Time Updates
A fixture change two hours before kick-off has to reach every affected player. We used push notifications tied to team and role subscriptions so nobody receives alerts for matches they are not part of.
Our Development Roadmap
Systematic approach to building a feature-rich sports management mobile app.
Requirements Analysis
Audited the existing web feature set and interviewed admins, coaches and referees. Defined four role-based journeys and cut the mobile scope to the 40 percent of features used on match day.
API Integration
Connected to SportLomo's existing REST APIs. Added batched endpoints and response caching so a fixture list loads in one call instead of six.
Mobile App Development
Built the app with Ionic and React Native, packaged through Capacitor. Implemented offline storage, push notifications, team sheets and incident reporting.
Testing & Optimization
Tested across multiple device models, three sports and every supported region. Fixed timezone edge cases around fixture rescheduling.
Launch & Rollout
Phased release with sports organizations. Shipped admin training material and in-app onboarding for each role.
Our Solution
The app is one codebase serving four roles, three sports and multiple regions.
Role-Based App Experience
Players, coaches, referees and club admins open the same app and see different home screens. Permissions are resolved server-side, so a referee never sees club admin tools.
Offline-First Architecture
Fixtures, team sheets and player data are cached on device. Coaches can build a line-up with no signal, and the app syncs when connectivity returns.
Configurable Sport Engine
Scoring, substitution rules and disciplinary flows are configuration, not code. Adding a new sport is a config change rather than a release.
Targeted Notification Layer
Alerts are scoped by team, role and region so users only get updates that affect their own fixtures.
