About BrokerBuddy

BrokerBuddy helps real estate brokers and agencies manage property listings, leads, and team workflows in one platform. Before it existed, that work lived across Excel sheets, WhatsApp threads and email inboxes.

The Problem

Problem Statement

Real estate brokers were losing leads and opportunities due to scattered data across Excel sheets, WhatsApp, and emails. There was no centralized system to track listings, match leads, or monitor team performance.

Challenges

Challenges Faced

Creating an intelligent CRM that works seamlessly across web and mobile while maintaining data security.

Matching Buyers From Memory

When a buyer described what they wanted, someone had to remember which listings fitted. Good matches were missed because the person who knew the inventory was not the person taking the call.

Nothing Updated Until Someone Got Back to a Desk

Agents spent the day at viewings and the evening typing up what happened. By then details were lost and the next agent to speak to that buyer was working from stale information.

Client Data in Personal Chat Threads

Buyer requirements, budgets and negotiation notes sat in individual WhatsApp accounts. If an agent left, the relationship left with them, and no agency could guarantee a client their data stayed within the firm.

Leads Going Cold in an Inbox

A new enquiry could sit unseen for hours because it arrived in one shared inbox with no owner. In a market where the first agent to respond usually wins the viewing, that delay was costing deals.

Our Process

Our Development Roadmap

Sixteen weeks from the first broker interview to production. Each phase is listed below with the time it actually took.

2 weeks

Discovery & Planning

Interviewed brokers to understand workflows, pain points, and feature requirements.

4 weeks

Backend & Database

Built Supabase backend with RLS policies, matching algorithms, and notification system.

5 weeks

Web Platform

Developed Next.js admin portal with listing management and analytics dashboards.

4 weeks

Mobile App

Built React Native app with real-time sync.

1 week

Launch & Iteration

Deployed to production, onboarded pilot brokers, and iterated based on feedback.

Solution

Our Solution

We built a multi SaaS platform with an admin web portal and a mobile app. The platform allows brokers to manage leads, match listings, assign team roles, and monitor activity, all with role-based access.

Matching as a Service, Not a Filter

Matching runs in the backend against every active listing, so results are the same whoever is logged in and whichever device they are on. A UI filter would have given each agent a different answer.

One Backend, Two Surfaces

The Next.js portal and the React Native app read and write the same Supabase data with no sync layer between them. What an agent records at a viewing is on the broker's dashboard before they reach the car.

Isolation at the Database, Not the App

Row-level security policies are enforced by Supabase itself, so a query can only ever return records that agency is entitled to. Isolation does not depend on the application layer getting every check right.

Real Time by Default

New leads, new matches and status changes push to whoever needs them rather than waiting for someone to refresh. Nobody has to remember to check.

Common Questions

Questions About This Build

A real estate CRM manages property listings, buyer and seller leads, and the agents working them. It differs from a general CRM because the record at the centre is a property, not just a contact.
An MVP with listings, leads and user roles typically runs six to eight weeks. Lead matching logic and a separate agent mobile app add time, since both need the core data model settled first.
Yes. BrokerBuddy pairs a web platform for brokers with a React Native agent app, so agents can work listings and leads from a site visit rather than waiting until they are back at a desk.
Row-level security. Supabase policies are enforced at the database level, so a query can only ever return records that agency is entitled to. Isolation does not depend on the application layer getting every check right.
Next.js for the web platform, React Native for the agent mobile app, and Supabase for data, authentication and separation between brokerages.
